Showing
In addition to the many other activities held at Smithbridge Stable, the students who ride with us have the option to take what
they've learned and compete at horse shows.
Smithbridge goes to a horse show almost every weekend during the show season. Smithbridge Stable goes to local Rhode Island shows, and some shows
in nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut. In addition, if riders qualify for championship shows during the year, they can participate in the
Massachusetts Hunter Jumpers Medal Finals, the Rhode Island Finals, the New England Finals, the New England Stock Seat Medal Finals, and others,
at the end of the year. These are challenging shows, with competition from around the Northeast.
Many of the Smithbridge riders that show earn year-end awards from the RI Horseman's Association and the New England Horseman's Council
(and others). They receive these awards at each associations' annual banquet. These formal banquets are a LOT of fun, with great prizes, good food,
dancing, and a chance to hang out with your friends from other barns.
Smithbridge provides the shipping to the shows as well as coaching at the shows. They can also arrange braiding services, if needed.
If you don't own your own horse, you can lease one of the Smithbridge horses for a daily lease fee. Smithbridge makes it easy!
In addition, Smithbridge holds at least two schooling shows throughout the year, right at the farm! Although not rated horse shows, they provide an
opportunity for riders who have never shown, for riders with young or new horses, and for riders who just want to have some fun, compete in a horse
show. These shows are well-run, fun shows.
